Our comprehensive year-round program focuses on technique, strength, and endurance, with a strong emphasis on building a love for the sport. Description: Pre-competitive program focusing on stroke techniques, turns, and diving

Prerequisites: Ability to swim all 4 competitive strokes

Goals: Improve stroke technique, turns, and diving

Practices: 3-60 minute sessions per week (recommend 2-3)

Competition: 2 meets per year

Locations: Tompkins HS and Katy HS

Novice

(Ages 8-10)

Description: Our beginner group

Prerequisites: 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke

Goals: Learn basic strokes, body position, and turns

Practices: 2-60 minute sessions per week

Competition: Recommended: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

Location: Seven Lakes High School

Monthly Fee: $129.75

Intro to Age Group

(Ages 10-12)

Description: Our first development group for 12 & under athletes

Prerequisites: 100 IM or 4×25 IMO and 2-4 50 FR

Goals: Complete training sets, dive certification, and 200 IM

Practices: 3-60 minute sessions per week

Competition: Recommended: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

Intro to Age Group II

(Ages 10-12)

Description: Our second development group for 12 & under athletes

Prerequisites: Meet Intro to Age Group goals, training test times, and 200 IM or 50s of each stroke

Goals: Complete training sets, dive certification, and 200 IM

Practices: 3-60 minute sessions per week

Competition: Recommended: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

Age Group I

(Ages 10-12)

Description: Our advanced development group for 12 & under athletes

Prerequisites: Meet Intro to Age Group II goals, training test times, and 6x50s of each stroke

Goals: Improve stroke technique, speed, team skills

Practices: 4-60 minute sessions per week (recommend 3)

Competition: Recommended: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

Age Group II

(Ages 10-12)

Description: Our advanced development group for 11-12 year olds

Prerequisites: Meet training test times, 3×200 IM, and at least one 10 & Under “B” time

Goals: Commit to increased practice schedule and achieve 11-12 “B” time

Practices: 5-75 minute sessions per week (recommend 4-5)

Competition: Recommended: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

Advanced Age Group

(Ages 10-12)

Description: Our most advanced group for 12 & under athletes

Prerequisites: Meet training test times, 11-12 “B” time, and 4×200 IM

Goals: Achieve 11-12 “BB” time, race all distances, and develop aerobic conditioning

Practices: 6-90 minute sessions per week (recommend 4-5)

Competition: Recommended: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

Description: Our advanced group for young swimmers

Prerequisites: Meet training test times, 10 & Under “BB” time, and 65% attendance

Goals: Refine stroke technique, enjoy racing, achieve 11-12 “BB” times, and compete in TAGS

Practices: 5-90 minute sessions per week (recommend 4)

Competition: Recommended: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

Junior Development

(Ages 13-18)

Description: Developmental group for new competitive swimmers

Prerequisites: Meet training test times, 200 IM, and 60% attendance

Goals: Refine stroke technique, racing skills, and training ability

Practices: 5-90 minute sessions per week (recommend 3)

Competition: Recommended: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

Practices: 6-105 minute sessions per week (recommend 5)

Competition: Recommended: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

(Ages 13-14)

Description: Elite training group with regular “doubles” practices

Prerequisites: Meet training test times, 3×13-14 “A” times, TAGS, and 80% attendance

Goals: Achieve 15-16 “A” times, TAGS times, Sr. Sectional and/or Junior National times

Practices: 7-8×120 minute sessions per week (2 morning)

Competition: 1 meet per month + highest qualified championship meet

Description: Developmental high school group

Prerequisites: Meet training test times, 3×200 IM, 15-16 “BB” time, and 70% attendance

Goals: Achieve 3×15-16 “BB” times, 75% attendance, and multiple Gulf Championship qualifying times

Practices: 8-105 minute sessions per week (dryland may vary)

Competition: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

Senior II

(Ages 15+)

Description: Highest level senior group for 15+ year olds

Prerequisites: Meet training test times, 3×15-16 “A” times, and 80% attendance

Goals: Achieve Senior Sectional time, 85% attendance, and compete in all events

Practices: 6-9×120 minute sessions per week (dryland included)

Competition: 3 short course + champs, 2 long course + champs

High Performance

(Ages 15+)

Description: Our elite group for swimmers aiming for national/international competition

Prerequisites: Meet rigorous training test times, 85% attendance, 3x Sectional Cuts, and 2×15-16 “AA” times

Goals: Swim collegiately, qualify for national competitions, and compete in all events

Practices: 6-9×120-150 minute sessions per week (dryland included)

Competition: 1 meet per month + championship meets

Once you see that email, you have completed the registration and you can attend that try out for Katy Aquatics.
